This is my first blog since March.I am so sorry. I have had plenty to say and I have been shooting a lot but I just couldn’t seem to motivate myself to write a blog. Well here we are with a new one, at last!
So, what is the “Eggleston Project”?
I was running around YouTube looking at various videos on the master photographers (mostly street), and came across a short film on William Eggleston. Now I have always kind of liked his approach to photography, but lets me honest, he is the king of the mundane and ‘pointless’ ! (Only half joking) :) At least that’s always been my impression.
After watching the video my opinion changed completely. Yes, he was photographing mostly mundane things but his use of colour is absolutely wonderful. Look at how many of his images have red, blue, and yellow (and green) in them? This completely inspired me to shoot images of the mundane but they had to have yellow and red as the main colours. The reason I picked those two colours is because Fuji cameras have a particularly beautiful way of reproducing those two prime colours.
The next thing that happened is I realised how many things are red and yellow and how often you can find them together. It kind of made the project a lot easier. I have pretty much finished the idea but if I see anything that catches my eye I will still take a photo and add it to the project on my web site.

Again huge apologies for not being here, and I will do my best to be more regular with this blog.
Good to have you back. The reds really pop with the Fuji.
